Job Description
JOB PURPOSE : To coordinate and supervise the provision of Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) Services in order to achieve elimination of vertical transmission of HIV.
- Coordinates and supervises effectively HIV case identification in pregnant and breastfeeding women and children born from HIV positive mothers in order to facilitate linkage to treatment.
- Coordinates and supervises effectively treatment of HIV Positive pregnant & breast- feeding women and Infants in order to achieve viral load suppression and reduce the HIV transmission.
- Supervises effectively the monitoring of viral load in HIV positive pregnant and breastfeeding women in order to facilitate appropriate clinical interventions.
- Supervises effectively implementation of retention strategies among pregnant and breastfeeding women and infants living with HIV in order to achieve improved clinical outcomes.
- Coordinates and undertakes effectively monitoring and evaluation of PMTCT programs in order to facilitate appropriate interventions.
- Coordinates and undertakes effectively capacity building programs in order to impart knowledge and skills.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Secondary Education:
Full Grade 12 School Certificate with five O level credits or better
Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and Midwifery or equivalent
Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:
- Three (3) years
- Experience in HIV programming
Communication Skills:
- Written Skills
Ability to write comprehensive reports
(ii) Oral Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively in English
(iii) Other skills/Attributes:
- Computer literate
- Confidentiality
- Initiative
- Analytical skills
