Job Description

JOB PURPOSE :
To coordinate and conduct capacity building and technical support interventions in
Pediatric and Adolescent HIV/TB health services to optimize program and patient level
outcomes among HIV infected Pediatric and adolescent patients.


RESPONSIBILITIES
– Plans, implements, and monitors evidence based and MOH approved program strategies
to optimize performance of the Pediatric and Adolescent HIV program spanning from
prevention, case finding, treatment, viral load coverage and suppression and any other
related support services to optimize pediatric outcomes
– Coordinates timely capacity building of all health providers and facilities in the province
to ensure provision of quality Pediatric and adolescent HIV/TB services.
– Coordinates effectively, HIV/TB case identification in the province to facilitate linkage to
treatment among Pediatrics and Adolescents
– Coordinates effectively, treatment of HIV/TB patients in the province in order improve
clinical outcomes among Pediatrics and Adolescents
– Coordinates effectively, implementation HIV/TB treatment retention strategies among
Pediatrics and Adolescents to ensure adherence to treatment
– Coordinates effectively, monitoring of viral load in HIV/TB among Pediatrics and
Adolescents to facilitate interventions for viral load suppression
– Coordinates effectively, implementation of HIV/TB programs among Pediatrics and
Adolescents in the Province in to reduce new infections
– Undertakes regular and periodic monitoring and evaluation of HIV/TB programs among
Pediatrics and Adolescent in the Province to inform decision making


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Secondary Education:
Full Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five O Level credits or better
Professional Qualifications:
– Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent
– Desirable: Master of Public Health and/or Master of Medicine in Pediatrics

Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:
– 3 years’ relevant experience implementing Pediatric and Adolescent
HIV/TB programs
– Experience in Pediatric HIV management
Communication Skills:
(i) Written Skills
Ability to write comprehensive and coherent professional paper/report
(ii) Oral Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively in English and any local language
relevant to geographic work location
(iii) Other skills/Attributes:
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
– Confidentiality
– Initiative
