Job Description

JOB PURPOSE :
To coordinate the provision of quality and cost-effective HIV treatment services in the adult
population in order to improve health outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 Coordinates effectively HIV case identification in the province in order to facilitate
linkage to treatment among adults
 Coordinates effectively treatment of HIV patients in the Province in order to improve
clinical outcomes among adults
 Coordinates effectively implementation of HIV treatment retention strategies among
adults in order to ensure adherence to treatment
 Coordinates effectively monitoring of viral load in HIV/TB among adults in order to
facilitate appropriate interventions. for viral load suppression
 Coordinates effectively implementation of HIV programmes among adults in the
Province in order to reduce new infections
 Coordinates timely capacity building in Adult ART services to all support sites in order
to ensure provision of quality adult HIV treatment services
 Undertakes monitoring and evaluation of Adult HIV treatment programmes in the
province in order to inform decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

(a) Secondary Education:
Full Grade 12 School Certificate with five o level credits or better
(b) Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent
(MMed Internal Medicine, Master of Public Health will be added advantage)
(c) Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:
3 years relevant experience
(d) Communication Skills:
(i) Written Skills
Ability to write comprehensive and coherent professional papers/report
(ii) Oral Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively in English
(iii) Other skills/Attributes:
 Computer literate
 Confidentiality
 Initiative
